Pakistan resorted to 2,335 ceasefire violations alongside LoC in Jammu area from May 30, 2019, until January 20, 2020

A complete of eight Army personnel had deadly casualties since May 30, 2019, up to now, Union Defence Minister for State (MoS) Shripad Naik mentioned in a written reply to Rajmani Patel and Dr AmeeYajnik in Rajya Sabha on Monday.

Pakistan has resorted to 2,335 ceasefire violations alongside the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu area since May 30, 2019, until January 20, 2020. In addition to 177 incidents of cross-border firing alongside Indo-Pak worldwide border in Jammu area since May 30, 2019, until January 15, 2020, additionally happened.

On Monday, a civilian was killed and 4 others have been injured in a ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops alongside the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tangdhar sector, officers had mentioned. The deceased was recognized as Mohammed Saleem Awan, 60, that they had mentioned.

Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing and the Indian Army retaliated in satisfactory measure, the officers had mentioned. Four civilians sustained accidents within the firing by Pakistani troops, that they had added.

From August-October, 2019, Pakistan had resorted to 950 ceasefire violations alongside LoC and 79 incidents of CFVs alongside International Border in Jammu area over the past three months. As per the casualties categorised, three Army personnel have been martyred and 7 injured. Appropriate retaliation to the ceasefire violations, as required, have been carried out by the Army.
